7-23: Post 30

Happy 30th ANNIVERSARY Mr. Blog!

And as this is a special day for my blog, this was a very special day for me. I have truly been re-inspired tonight. I saw Coldplay for the 2nd time in 8 months, and they were spectacular as usual. But moreso because I've been putting so much effort into this freaking cd, and just watching them tonight reaffirmed to me what I'm doing this for. I'm notorious for shedding tears at their concerts, and I did tonight as well - THANK GOODNESS the lights were out so anyone couldn't see. And no. I'm not telling what song did it. :)

But it really has just pushed me to continue and go forward with the album. And honestly, I'm just a few vocals, a few tweaks, and a few drum parts away before I can honestly finish. And I truly believe it will be as fantastic as I can make it right now. It will be the best it can be for who I am and what I am able to be right now.

So I guess this blog is just a blog to say - I'm excited. I'm excited for this record. I'm excited for you to hear it. Because I have LITERALLY poured every ounce of my heart and spirit into it. And I'm not settling for mediocre. I have cut songs. I have changed songs. I have rewritten, redone, revamped, and remixed the crap out of songs. I have hated songs. I have loved songs. I have written the "best song I've ever written" maybe 24 times, and been disgusted with it/them the next day. And all in all, I've come up with the "12 best of the best of the worst of the best". ;)

So I hope you can be excited. And I must tell you that if you think this going to be a Josh Groban - Michael Buble - Showtune Star album - your wrong, and I hope you don't expect that. I'm making music that I feel and want to make.
