**Forgive me if I sound stupid on this blog - I'm on muscle relaxers and am falling over from sleepiness. Today worked me to the bone. Ugh. But I did manage to find time to work on some songs. Not finish any, but I did get SOME work done.
But first the inspiration for today:
Rob Thomas, ladies and gentlemen, has created a masterpiece with this album. Fire on the Mountain has quickly become one of my favorite songs everrrrr. Give me the Meltdown is also very cool. Get this. ASAP. I promise you, you will NOT be dissapointed. It's freaking Rob Thomas.
Anyway, today, I have started using some new Drum Kits including Izotope Idrum. Cool little thing. I tweaked the drums on Jet Sky Alley - they sound much more full, and truly, much more tribal. Which is what I wanted. A very loud song to start off a cd. Perfect.
Cause + Cause. What a great song. It's one of my favorites right now - mainly because it's just piano and voice. I know that may not appeal to some people, but the album needed it, and frankly, I don't care if you like it or not. I DO. And that's what matters. I may add some soft violin on it. Maybe not.
I added some small trumpet bits to Mega Parade. That's gonna be a fun song... If I can finish it the way I want to. Also, The Visionary is working very well. I may tweak the drum sounds on it - they are a bit tinny and shear right now. Maybe do some Idrum work there. Same with The Road to Now.
I thought I should let you know that 11:11 was actually taken from a song I wrote when I was 8 years old. It hasn't even changed that much. I may actually release the "1998 version" with the single. How cute? hahaha...or embarrassing?
I may do a preview of some small samples of songs on here either Saturday or Sunday. Video blog or maybe just mp3's I post on here. Don't know if I can do that. We'll see. Definately a preview of 11:11 and Rain_Fire....maybe I Need You for those who haven't heard it. That way you'll have an idea of where the album is headed.
There IS a chance I can finish the songs by Monday, but maybe not. It's actually not that big a deal if I can't - I won't be able to get into the studio for voice tracks until mid-july. Idk. I'll keep you updated.
Thanks for staying tuned.
