6-12: The Year 19, New Tracklist

I AM NINETEEN.

And I have to say, I feel totally bored with it already. Really - How exciting is the age 19? Not at all.

Anyway, I had a splendid day yesterday with Olivia. She planned a whole day of Schiltterbahn, Galveston, and Rainforest Cafe. It was wonderful. It was a wonderful way to celebrate a year of being 18. What a year!

So the basis of this blog is that I am releasing my debut album in August. (August 17?) I have been working on this album since I first wrote World in early 2006. So it's been a 3 year process pretty much.

The album title is Jet Sky Alley, and my best friend has already created a FANTASTIC album cover. The website will be out soon (courtesy of Joker of Spades productions). Originally, I had planned the track list for 12 songs:

Jet Sky Alley
I Need You
World
11:11
Towers
Ghosts + Goblins
Cause + Cause
A Day In The Life of a Lover
Rain_Fire
The Road to Now
Finding Eden
You Were Meant For the Skies

However, after really going through the theme of the album, I have decided to change up the order, and also drop the song Towers. It's a wonderful song, but there are a few things keeping me from putting it on the album. A) I didn't fully write the song. The beautiful music and guitars are by Brandon Bingham, and I simply came up with the lyrics and melody. I don't feel right with putting on the album, because it is kind of his song. B) It's a bit different then the rest of the album, since it is just a guitar-and-voice, John-Mayer-esque song. I LOVE IT, don't get me wrong, and I think it's some of the best lyrics I've written, but it just doesn't fit in.

SO my plan for the song is to release it as a b-side on my first single (which may be I Need You...not positive about that yet).

I've begun writing a new song, called Crying Over Spilled Milk. It MIGHT make the album, because it fills in the empty spot that Towers leaves.

I am doing some rewrites on 11:11. Hate that song right now. UGH.

Imogen Heap is a REALLY big inspiration right now. I have been rewatching her V-Blog's, and she is INCREDIBLE. I am obsessed with her "First Train Home" song...drawing some inspiration from there.

I am only doing the accompiament tracks right now, and then I'll be taking them in to Joey Garza, who runs a studio nearby. He'll master them, and then I'll do the vocals there. He's got a pretty sweet set-up...soo...it should be coooool.

Anyway. That's all I have for now. I hope to have this all ready soon. EEk.
